Barbarians Under 14's Dominate at South Molton
Minehead Barbarians under 14's played what Coach Paul Francis described as their 'best game yet' to beat South Molton on their own turf on Sunday. Despite
being a man short Minehead dominated the match from start to finish although South Molton were no pushover.
New team member Elliot Scott left the opposition in his wake to cross the opposition try line three times in the first half taking Minehead 15 points ahead. Gutsy
play from another new boy, Kai Usher with support by Angus Marsh kept the pressure on with Eddie Waller taking advantage to take the score to 20 nil at half
time.
In the second half Usher's strength and determination were rewarded with his first try for the side following an outstanding run down three quarters of the pitch.
Sam Pound kicked with precision to secure the conversion. Scott then went on to score his fourth try after another blinding run and once again Pound provided
the conversion. Waller scored his second try taking the points tally to 39 with ten minutes to go. Rory Willicombe played with skill and determination throughout
and he was rewarded with a try, again converted by Pounds right foot.
With just minutes to play South Molton's continued efforts gave them a consolation try to end the match 46 - 7 in Mineheads favour.
Every member of the Minehead team played with skill, presence and determination to secure a fantastic final score. Willicombe was named man of the match
with recognition that any one of the fourteen players deserved credit for their efforts. Squad; A and E Doughty, S Pound. F Martin, G Day A Marsh, I ******, R
