From the kick off Ronan chased and took the ball well, but was unfortunate to lose it in the tackle. Minehead held the scrum well but Barnstaple ran the ball and would have scored but for a great tackle by Harry resulting in a Minehead scrum which Minehead won, clearing the danger with a strong run from Trevor. Due to the weather there were a lot of handling errors from both sides resulting in a good number of scrums, from which Minehead found themselves under pressure, but a good kick from Lewis cleared the danger, but Barnstaple run in another try and with a successful kick moved 14 : 0 ahead. Another good tackle, this time from Bradley resulted in a Minehead penalty from which Tyler made a strong run moving the ball nicely to Bradley who was unlucky to lose it in the tackle, and Barnstaple score again from the scrum,19 : 0. Minehead apply some pressure of their own from the restart and Olly was unlucky not to score in corner, being forced into touch inches from the line. Barnstaple score again on the stroke of half time,24 : 0. Minehead restart the 2nd half and some good tackling results in a Minehead line out. Barnstaple turn the ball over and run in a try and conversion,31 : 0. Lewis kicks off and a great catch and run by Braden is brought back by the ref, as the ball didn't go the full 10 meters. Minehead won the resulting scrum and a strong run from Shane with a great off load to Jordan coming on at pace, got Barnstaple's defence working, forcing them to kick to touch to relieve the pressure. Minehead won the lineout, but after a strong drive from Tyler and Connor the ball is knocked on and Barnstaple score from the resulting scrum,38 : 0. With some good running Barnstaple again almost immediately 45 : 0. Barnstaple ran in 2 more tries and 1 conversion before the end , but to Mineheads credit, they never gave up and some fantastic last ditch tackling by Ryan, Fred and Braden, the score line would have much bigger than 57 : 0. After an outstanding match against Wivey, the 4 week break before Barnstaple took it's toll, but the lads can take pride in the fact that they never gave up and battled and competed right up to the final whistle, and with a little more luck would have posted a decent score of their own.
