Minehead Barbarians 0 Wadebridge Camels 26 This game was re-scheduled due to the bad weather in January and Coach Andy Stevens was forced to make 8 changes to the starting lineup from the team that went down narrowly to Devonport Services  as a number of players were committed to a Stag weekend on what should have been a blank date. The youngsters who came in certainly showed their promise and the team performance against a team currently third in the league was very encouraging. Frank Little came in at prop to complete an all Colt front row with Joe Barrett and Ryan Lewis , who has been a fixture in this seasons line up and  although still only 19 showed his willingness to shoulder responsibility and lead by  example. Wadebridge started strongly and after 15 minutes were 6 points up  with two penalties from No10 Leigh Charles. They were dominating the game at this stage but the Minehead defence was superb. The visitors were camped in the Minehead 22  and despite  constantly switching play from side to side ,  it took a further 20 minutes before they finally managed to work an overlap and put left wing Cam Lees over in the corner leaving the score at 11 –0 until just before half time when they mounted a catch and drive which proved unstoppable. Frequently when a side has been forced to defend for so long, a 16 –0 halftime deficit gives rise to a substantial second half total as fatigue takes over ,but  Minehead again showed their resilience and took the game to the Camels. Justin Harris playing at outside half caused the defence problems with his unorthodox lines of running and Wesley Hopwood , stepping up from the Stags XV ran straight and hard at inside centre.  Kyle Lewis, another Colt also had a promising debut, looking secure under the high ball and confident  with ball in hand  and making some  good clearances. Colin Howells had taken over  from Joe Barrett ,who was nursing a knock , to save him for the Colts Cup game at Bath the following day and helped control the set pieces where  the physical presence of Dave Swann showed just how much he had been missed the previous week. There was no further score until 10 minutes from the end when Wadebridge added the best try of the game. Scrum half Shawn Hawkey made a break in midfield to find openside flanker Sam Stone on his shoulder to receive a quick unload  and find a gap to  sprint in from 40 metres. Matt Groves was another Colt to make his debut, coming on to replace left wing Olly Thomas whose defensive efforts finally forced him to limp off near the end Wadebridge completed a workman like performance  with a second try from their left wing who was put in after Minehead failed to control a wheeling scrum on the five metre line, to end an entertaining game that was very well handled by Somerset Society referee Mark Golling Team, J Claydon, O Thomas, B White, W Hopwood K Lewis, J Harris, M Cook, F Little .
